One on One and Group Workshops
I will help you design a portfolio that showcases the designer and thinker you are, brand yourself, and create an online persona.
Typography is basic to great design. Whether you're working in print, web, motion, or interactive, knowing which fonts to use, how to use them, and how to mix fonts gives your product that polished edge. In this course we will explore choosing fonts, setting fonts, setting headlines and paragraphs, and creating a unique typographic look that sets you apart from every other designer.
Please join me at my rural Pennsylvania retreat for workshops in creating land art (summer), designing gardens (spring), building fences from found materials (fall), and open sessions for pleine-air drawing, painting, and sculpting (anytime).
Fascinated with agricultural terracing, these compositions reveal fluid contours, languid lines, layer upon layer placed to build irregular surfaces that resemble archeological digs and terraced architecture. They are earthly explorations that replicate excavations of the human heart and mind.
If you dream of an inexpensive studio/home/cabin/getaway outside of the city, this class will help you make this a reality. I'll show you how I did it and help you sketch out your tree house, cabin, greenhouse, hobbit house, yurt, micro home, trailer.... whatever your home away from home may be! You will leave the course with a good idea of the dream space you want, a necessities list, and a building sketch.
I'll provide you with an introduction to the tools you need to design the studio of your dreams including site scouting, materials, prefab options, recycling, and using reclaimed materials.
A logo is typography (logotype) and/or an icon (logo mark) that sets us apart from everyone else. A logo compresses meaning into one small well composed unit, a unit that will be integral to all your entire brand. That’s a lot of pressure for any design! A creative logo design has to be on point. It has to be relevant. It has to be communicable and, most importantly, it must give your organization a professional, polished and well-thought-out look.
Whether you're just starting out and need a logo, looking to redesign or update your existing logo, or simply want to refresh your logo design skills, this class is for you!
