TYPOGRAPHY VIDEO: “I DON’T KNOW” Former student Olga Vladova created this type driven video in my intermediate design course at SVA about a new office romance fantasy. She wanted large scale with typography, so we borrowed a projector and projected in a classroom. It hit a corner and two walls, which made an interesting bend in the typography. Olga did a great job with concept and voice over. click this link to view the video https://vimeo.com/184527482 .

SVA YEARBBOK TYPOGRAPHY

Dan Cassaro was in my junior year typography course. I liked his style so hired him for yearbook senior year. He was also in my senior portfolio course. From the outset, Dan’s ideas were quirky, sometimes kitschy, but it turned out that he was onto something big. While I had to push him to play with typography in junior year, by the time he finished the yearbook project he was well on his way stylistically. He had found the pulse of an upcoming trend and has ridden it well. click this link to view Dan’s website http://www.youngjerks.com/.

The maps above show the times and locations throughout the day over several months. She also participated in geocaching as research for her thesis. Geocaching is interesting to people because of the secrecy and science involved in the game. Soojung constructed an evidence-based thesis concerning the overlaps between language and secrecy.
